Work continues on the project tasks of the Yakutsk Interregional Research School
Talented children from 13 districts of the republic and the city of Yakutsk joined research teams to work together on research projects relevant to the Yakutsk region.
The Yakutsk Interregional research School is held from July 16 to 25, 2023, has a practice–oriented orientation and assumes independent activity of students in grades 8-11 under the guidance of tutors who help to understand the project task and accompany students throughout the project. Since July 16, 2023, 67 participants of YAMISH – 2023 have plunged into the wonderful world of science, work has also taken place on collecting materials, processing the obtained materials using modern technologies. Project 1. “Comparative study of the nutritional value of plants by their lipid and fatty acid profile“ (tutor: Nokhsorov V.V., PhD, PhD, Institute of Biological Problems of the Cryolithozone of the Yangtze SB RAS; co-tutor: D.A. Struchkov, student of the IEN NEFU).
9 students joined the project. Young software researchers are conducting an experimental study using thin-layer and gas chromatography methods of the composition and content of lipids, including fatty acids and sterols in summer-vegetating forage plants of Yakutia.
Project 2. “Research on the functioning of solar panels taking into account the climatic features of the Far North“ (tutor: Boyakinov E.F., Assistant at the Institute of Physics and Technology of the Northeastern Federal University named after M.K.Ammosov).
The project was joined by 8 students who are interested in project activities in physics. The team will conduct an experimental study of the dependence of the efficiency of solar panels on various factors, including the climatic features of Yakutia.
Project 3. “Monitoring of the environment by biophysical parameters of plants“ (tutor: Protopopov F.F., PhD, Associate Professor of the Institute of Physics and Technology of the Northeastern Federal University named after M.K.Ammosov).
It should be noted that the study of the photobiology of processes occurring inside cells and plant organisms is a complex dynamic phenomenon caused by intracellular molecular and quantum processes occurring inside living cells. To study photobiology, the guys joined together in the framework of the direction “Monitoring the environment with biophysical parameters of plants“. “ Modern methods of biophysics make it possible to study these processes in vivo or in situ without destroying the cellular structures of plants. Studies of the mechanisms of variability of primary photobiological processes of plants under the influence of various external environmental factors, including polluting agents, remain relevant,” say the participants of the project “Monitoring the environment with biophysical parameters of plants“ under the guidance of Protopopov Fyodor Fedorovich, PhD, Associate Professor of the M.K. Ammosov Institute of Physics and Technology, teacher of the MAN RS(Ya) Project 4. “Modification of the surface of ultrahigh molecular weight polyethylene with fluoroplast“ (tutors: Fedorov Andrey Leonidovich, Ph.D., Ph.D., Laboratory of Materials Science, IPNG SB RAS; Kolesova E.S., M.Sc., Institute of Oil and Gas Problems, YANC SB RAS)
The project was joined by 7 students who are interested in project activities in the field of organic chemistry. The participants will conduct an experimental study.
Project 5. “Linguistics of emotions: does bilingualism affect emotions?“ (tutor: Danilov I.A., M.Sc., International Research Laboratory “Linguistic Ecology of the Arctic“ of the Northeastern Federal University named after M.K.Ammosov, M.sc., Research Center on national–linguistic relations of the Institute of Linguistics of the Russian Academy of Sciences).
“Which language is easier to express emotions in?“, “What factors determine the choice of an emotional language?“, “Do emotions have a voice in national cultures?“ and other issues will be discussed within the framework of this project. Students will be given the opportunity to get acquainted with an interesting area of linguistics – the linguistics of emotions. 9 students interested in cognitive, psychological and social linguistics joined the project. Through the use of experimental techniques, participants will explore emotions and feelings expressed in different languages and by native speakers of different languages.
Project 6. “Development of an anthropomorphic manipulator for a wheeled all-terrain vehicle“ (tutors: Illarionov T.A., Afanasyev A.A., students of the Institute of Mathematics and Computer Science of the Northeastern Federal State Educational Institution named after M.K.Ammosov).
The project was joined by 6 students who are working on an engineering and technical project on space robotics – the development of an anthropomorphic manipulator for a wheeled all-terrain vehicle and conducting an experimental test of it in the conditions of a Martian landfill.
Project 7. “Analysis of satellite images for studying the dynamics of landscapes in the context of climate change“ (tutor: Yakovleva O.Yu., student of the Institute of Natural Sciences of the Northeastern Federal State Educational Institution named after M.K.Ammosov).
The project was joined by 6 students who are interested in project work in the field of geography, who are able to work with geographical maps and geoservices such as Yandex maps, with the main sources of spatial data (satellite images, various electronic maps) on the Internet, and skills in working with geoportals. The participants analyze the materials of the components of the landscapes of Yakutia using geospatial data and geoinformation technologies.
Project 8. “Cosmic Ray Detector Cosmic Watch“ (tutor: Muksunov N.Ya., engineer at the Yu.G.Shafer Institute of Cosmophysics and Aeronomy of the YANC SB RAS).
The project was joined by 8 students who are interested in project work and technical modeling in the field of physics and optics. Young researchers will bring to life their ideas for the development of a solar ray detector and determine the experimental application of the detector for recording and studying the properties of broad atmospheric showers (SHAL).
Project 9. Development of the mobile application “My MAN“ (tutor: Efimova V.A., student of the Institute of Mathematics and Computer Science of the Northeastern Federal University named after M.K.Ammosov).
7 students joined the project. The project team is faced with the task of developing a mobile application for participants of educational programs of the Minor Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), in order to provide information support and relevant feedback. On July 20, 2023, within the framework of the YAMISH program, a lecture was held by the rector of the Small Academy of Sciences of the RS (Ya) Vasily Klimovich Pavlov on the topic “Science is the search for truth”. We wish all participants fruitful work!
