XIV conference of scientific youth “Topical issues of space physics”. First information message

Conference results

On February 11, 2022, the Shafer Institute of Cosmophysical Research and Aeronomy, Siberian Branch, Russian Academy of Sciences (SHICRA SB RAS), held the 14th conference of scientific youth “Topical Issues of Space Physics” in an online format within the framework of the Readings dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the birth of Vladimir Parfenievich Samsonov, PhD,  an organizer of the aeronomic direction and research of auroras at the Institute,  and according to plans of events within the framework of Days of Russian science.

Eleven reports of the conference were presented in the following areas:

Astrophysics of cosmic rays;

Solar-terrestrial physics (physics of the atmosphere, physics of the magnetosphere and ionosphere);

Modern methods and materials of radiophysics;

Instruments and experimental technique, applied problems.

The conference participants were young scientists, graduate students, and senior students of the Physics and Engineering Institute,  Ammosov North-eastern Federal University (NEFU),  aged up to  36 years. A total of ~34 people attended the reading session and the conference, including the audience and the program committee.

The chairman of the jury was Yuri Mikhailovich Grigoriev, Ph.D., a full member of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), Deputy Rector of NEFU, Head of the Theoretical Physics department,  Physics and Engineering Institute,  Ammosov North-eastern Federal University (NEFU),  the members of the jury were Petr Petrovich Ammosov Ph.D., Georgy Afanasyevich Makarov, Ph.D., Laboratory of Wide Atmospheric Rays; Saburov Artem Vladimirovich, Ph.D., Laboratory of Radio Emissions of the Ionosphere and Magnetosphere,  Vladimir Ilyich Kozlov, Ivan Stanislavovich Petukhov, Ph.D.

As a result of the conference among bachelor students of the Physics and Engineering Institute,  Ammosov North-eastern Federal University (NEFU), the diploma of the 1st degree is awarded to Sayyna Alekseevna Starostina (4th year) for the report “Investigation of the State of the Ozone Lover the North-east of Siberia According to Long-term Satellite Observations”, the diploma of the 2nd degree is awarded to Nikolay Eduardovich Markov Markov (3rd year) for the report “Analysis of the Radiation Quality of Components in around the Kharbalakhsky Coal Mine”, diploma of the 3rd degree goes to Khaarchaana Petrovna Nikulina (4th year) for the report “Cosmic Ray Propagation Model in the Galaxy”, an incentive prize is awarded to Nyurgun Anatolyevich Andreev (3rd year) for the report “Wavelet Processing of Two-Dimensional Data”.

Among graduate students and undergraduates, the diploma of the 1st degree is awarded to Konstantin Gerasimovich Lebedev (a postgraduate student, Shafer Institute of Cosmophysical Research and Aeronimy, Siberian Branch, Russian Academy of Science.) for the work “Measurement of the Muon Component of the EAS”, the diploma of the 2nd degree is awarded to Aleksey Alekseevich Noev (Master student, 2nd year) for the work “Synthesis of Ionograms by the Method of Calculation of Ray Trajectories of Radio Waves” , the diploma of the 3rd degree goes to  Grigory Sergeevich Telenkov (undergraduate, 2nd year) for the work “Effects of Mismatch of Geographic and Geomagnetic Poles in Global Maps of Full Electronic Content.”

Among young scientists of SHICRA SB RAS, the 1st place was taken by Stanislav Vasilyevich Matarkin with the report “Cherenkov Detectors CHED-4 in the Yakutsk Installation of the SHAL. Preliminary Results of Observations”, 2nd place –Vadim Sergeevich Starodubtsev with the report “Analysis of Methane Concentration Anomalies over the Burnt Areas in Central Yakutia according to Sentinel-5/TROPOMI Satellite Data”. The incentive prize is awarded to Ilya Sergeevich Gotovtsev for the report “The Sun and Solar Activity”.

The Program Committee awards Artem Yurievich Gololobov, Ph.D., with a special prize for good work and scientific training of young people.
